Quotation brief
The details that keep a material inquiry moving.
You do not need every detail to be final. Send what is available so the open decision points can be identified before supply scope and quotation are confirmed.
Material and grade
Polymer family, exact grade if specified, filler, color and any existing material preference.
Stock form and size
Rod diameter, sheet thickness, tube OD/ID, length and the machining allowance required.
Quantity and timing
Sample, prototype, repeat order or production quantity, together with the purchasing stage.
Operating conditions
Temperature, load, speed, pressure, chemical media, cleaning cycle and expected service life.
Drawing and tolerance
Finished geometry, critical tolerances, surface requirements and any machining or assembly notes.
Files and destination
Required TDS, COA, inspection or traceability documents, plus delivery destination and packing needs.
Supply boundary: Material documents describe the supplied grade or batch. Final-part design, machining, testing and end-use validation remain part of the buyer's or qualified manufacturing partner's process.
Before you submit
A few useful starting points.
These answers help you prepare an inquiry without adding more fields to the existing form.
Can I ask for material guidance before choosing a grade?
Yes. Share the main service conditions, finished geometry, preferred stock form and any constraints already known. Candidate materials and exact grades should then be reviewed against the application and supplier documentation.
Can I send a drawing or technical file?
Yes. A drawing can clarify finished geometry, tolerances, stock dimensions and machining allowance. Include only the files needed for the quotation review.
What should I provide for rods, sheets or tubes?
Provide the material or grade, shape, dimensions, quantity, color if relevant, machining allowance and the application conditions that may affect selection.
Do I need to know the exact material already?
No. If the material is not fixed, describe the load, temperature, media, wear, electrical or dimensional requirement first. The material name can be narrowed down during the selection discussion.
